Today, the Community Foundation is announcing $98,660 in funding through the Investment Readiness Program, a national initiative led by the Community Foundations of Canada and funded by the Government of Canada.

The Investment Readiness Program (IRP) provides non-repayable capital to social purpose organizations across the country to seed and grow social enterprise and prepare for future investment. The IRP supports social purpose organizations that are working to solve pressing social, cultural, and environmental challenges.

Working in partnership with the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta, we are supporting the following four IRP applicants: the Family Centre Society of Southern Alberta, the Fort Macleod Historical Association, the Medicine Hat College Foundation, and the Stitch it Forward Society of Lethbridge. The projects include the development of business plans, feasibility studies, and an e-commerce website. A brief description of the successful applicants and their projects can be found here.

The Investment Readiness Program has been a unique opportunity for the Community Foundation and for Southern Alberta because this program is specific to social enterprise. We are proud to be able to support these initiatives and we look forward to seeing the results of the projects and the positive impacts and changes they will have in our community.
